 Donham & Sweeney analyzed 17 different sites to find suitable locations for 2 new fire stations to replace 3 obsolete and dysfunctional old stations. Station 2 acts as a gateway to Belmont’s small downtown and houses a bus shelter. Its materials, height and curved shape reflect its prominent location and its immediate context. The Headquarters building sets the design standard for a major commercial street which is being re-developed with state, local and private funds. With a mixture of red and buff brick and cast stone trim, it features materials and colors the Town would like to see used in future buildings along the street. |  |
