We were the design architects for this 275,000 SF, 302-room Marriott Hotel on Long Wharf in Newport, RI. The hotel has facilities for large conventions, including a 7,500 SF banquet room, a number of small meeting rooms, a glass-roofed interior recreational area with swimming pool, coffee shop, and exhibit area. It was designed to fit comfortably into its waterfront surroundings. At street level it is two stories tall and lines up with adjacent buildings; shops were provided at the street frontage to tie the new building in with adjacent uses and pedestrian patterns in the area.
