This new Congregational church is located in the western suburbs of Brockton. It contains a 400-seat main sanctuary, a chapel, a library, church offices, classrooms, a kitchen, church school classrooms, and a large fellowship hall. The exterior is finished in a traditional mixture of white clapboards and board and batten siding. However, the form of the building with its square plan and tall central cupola, which floods the sanctuary with light, is responsive to contemporary needs and sensibilities. Donham & Sweeney was subsequently hired to design an addition to accomodate the rapidly growing congregation. The new wing houses a multi-purpose room and nursery on the upper level and classrooms and offices on the lower floor. This project was prominently featured in the book, Architecture for the Gods. :: Read news article
